Skin Tightening Treatment

Fibroblast Treatments

The Fibroblast Phi-Ion anti-ageing treatment works by using a hand-tool that produces a tiny plasma flash which leaps from the tip of the tool to the skin's surface in a micro-millimetre sized point. These minute dots are positioned adjacent to the tension lines on the skin. This process triggers an instant-contraction and tightening of skin fibres, which in turn causes lifting, remodelling & has a rejuvenating effect.

The science involves the ionisation of gases from the air creating a micro electrical discharge causing sublimation at the targeted micro points on the skin. What does this mean? The tiny dots cause the skin to contract, reducing the excessive sagging on the superficial skin layer. This method can be used to treat specific areas of concern without damaging the surrounding tissue or applying unwanted heat energy to them.

It is a skin surface treatment and has therefore been given the name ‘soft surgery’ as it is a non invasive alternative to more risky surgical procedures. The effects can often be seen immediately after the treatment however there is an expected 5-7 days where you will retain little carbon crusts from the thermal disruption. These dots will fall away.

As with anything disrupting the surface of the skin there is a minimal risk of swelling, as the body enters healing mode and concentrates its energy into rebuilding. In this care I recommend sleeping in a slightly elevated position until any swelling subsides.

Results have been known to last longer than 2 years, and whilst the treatment is often a fraction of the cost of more invasive surgeries, many clients choose to maintain the results and further improve between 12 - 24 months. The same area cannot be treated again within a 4 month window as the healed result will still be developing over the first 3 months as the newly contracted skin  rebuilds it collagen & elastic structures.

Fractional Plasma Pen Phi-Ion Therapy.

Here the same Pen is used but a different tip is applied where the energy is softened and spread over a wider area. It is not quite so invasive and there is no recovery time at all ( a little redness that with disappear within an hour or two). This is often used for larger areas like chest, stomach, neck & jawline etc as well as the face. This provides more of a general tightening and works best over a course of treatments 2 sessions over a month - 6 week period.

This is a fantastic treatment if your skin lacks hydration, as the treatment involves the application of a serum containing hyaluronic acids, which visibly tighten the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. When this is teamed with the energy from the Plasma Pen the skin looks radiant, hydrated & more taut even after the first treatment.

Plasma Pre Care

Following a consultation to confirm suitability for this procedure please remember the following pre care in the run up to your treatment.

  • Stay hydrated & have something to eat. As you will be sitting still for some time, it is good to have eaten before your appointment to keep good blood sugar levels

  • Please avoid Coffee, taking Ibuprofen, Aspirin (unless medically advised) & alcohol the night before or day of your treatment

  • Ensure you are in good health the day of your treatment

Plasma Post Care

Aftercare is the key to success in Plasma treatments. Following your treatment you will start to see instant results, where the skin will start to contract straight away. Little scabs will form over your area of micro sublimation & these must not be disturbed but left to heal. These will fall away over the next 2-3 days. Keeping the area clean to heal safely and not picking will help your procedure heal quickly and look at its best.  You may notice slight blanching around the area after your treatment which is totally normal and should subside in a few hours.

  • Avoid Alcohol for 24 hrs post treatment

  • Avoid excessive activity that may cause sweating for 5 days

  • Do not use Saunas , steam rooms & swimming pools for 7 days

  • DO NOT PICK or PULL the scabs that form, these must be allowed to fall off naturally over the coming days

  • Avoid sunbathing for your next 6 weeks, and if exposed to the sun use a maximum factor sunblock or cover area as this will be hyper sensitive.

  • Full recovery time is suggested at 3 months and if multiple areas are to be treated then a 3 month gap is recommended between areas.
